Brian DiSalvo
Law Enforcement Strategic Assistance Unit (LESAU) at the New York State Division of Criminal Justice Services (DCJS)
Brian DiSalvo is a Field Advisor with the Law Enforcement Strategic Assistance Unit (LESAU) at the New York State Division of Criminal Justice Services (DCJS). He is the project leader for the state’s non-fatal shooting program under the GIVE grant and works with law enforcement agencies across New York State to implement evidence-based policing practices. Prior to his employment with DCJS Mr. DiSalvo spent 20 years with the Rochester (NY) Police Department, retiring as a Detective Lieutenant. Mr. DiSalvo spent a large portion of his career supervising major criminal investigations in various units in RPD. Mr. DiSalvo holds a M.S. in Criminal Justice Administration and is currently employed as an adjunct instructor at SUNY Brockport where he has instructed a variety of different courses. Additionally, he holds certifications in Evidence Based Policing practices from George Mason University and Cambridge University. Mr. DiSalvo is passionate about continued research in investigations to include improving clearance rates of cases, investigative efficiency, interviewing, and organizational investigative structure.
